A1 locks up on instant message

I have client with a month old PC that has been having problems with A1 law locking up after she comes back from lunch. I did 2 or 3 reboots Monday, each time A1 would start up OK but once the screen was displayed none of the tool bar choices or icons responded to mouse clicks. I did a remove and reinstall and it seemed to work the rest of the afternoon but the next afternoon they told me she was locking up when she received an instant message from someone else.
Any thoughts?

Please Email me as to who the client is and the firm so that I may have a better grasp of the situation. Also, try copying A1Demo.exe (located in A1Law) from the server to the workstation and time it. Then back to the server again as test.exe and time it. Erase the test.exe file. Let me know how long this takes. Are they running any antivirus software programs (it should not matter but it may slow things down if they don't have their settings properly configured).

You know, I am remembering that I saw that problem once before and I'm trying to remember what it was that we did to fix it. To be honest with you, I think it was a bad network card. I would start there. Replace the network card and get back with me.
