Toc.oxc

Mr. Appell-

Recently the office has been having problems with a program produced by Avery for use with labels. I can't recall exactly when this problem started, but it's been several months at least. I'm not sure, but I believe the problem may be related to A1Law. Both programs make use of Toc.oxc, I've noticed, and A1Law apparently makes changes to this file during the update process. Since the last update, the Avery program has stopped working altogther, and I believe the problem started initailly 2 or 3 updates ago.
The error message produced by Avery before it shuts down is that Toc.Ocx is incorrectly registered. Reinstalling Avery has no effect. Is it possible that A1Law could be related to this problem?

1. Both programs make use of Toc.oxc

I find it rather difficult to believe that an Avery program would even need to make use of this control but it remotely possible.

2. The error message produced by Avery before it shuts down is that Toc.Ocx is incorrectly registered.

Start by going to the website and download ALL the files. There was one file missing that may be causing this problem/conflict.

What I mean is there was a dll file that I very recently included at the website that you most likely don't have.

Well, I don't know, but Avery claims toc.ocx to be at fault. This happens right when it tries to integrate with word....does that make sense?

Thanks for the update...I retrieved it, but I'm not sure what to do with it. I tried to reinstall the update, but A1Law said that I already had the latest version. Where do you want me to put the file?

Thanks for your help, even though this may not be your area!

I am not overly familiar with the Avery program. But, to start perhaps I should ask you if you even need it at all? Can A1-Law take over the things you are doing with Avery?

Please inquire as to the file size of the toc.ocx from Avery? Also, find out if there are any other modules that are included with this and who provides it (ie: any other dll files or lib. I'm trying to access whether their TOC is the same as mine or different but with the same name.

2. Thanks for the update...I retrieved it, but I'm not sure what to do with it.

Just throw it in the Extras folder.

Delete the file C:\LawLocal\Station.ini

and A1Law will automatically say New Version Detected and re-register all the files.

3. I tried to reinstall the update, but A1Law said that I already had the latest version. Where do you want me to put the file?

on your network in

A1Law\Extras

all of them should go in there.

Mr. Appell-

The dll file worked like a charm. Avery runs again, and A1Law has no problems. I'm not sure exactly what happened, but thanks for your help.

A1-Law is using the latest version of TOC.OCX and it has other files that come with it (including the dll files) from the TOC vendor.

Glad to hear that problem is fixed.

Mike.
