More Case activity Security Needed

#1

Post by TLLLP » Mon Jun 02, 2008 9:09 am

Mike:

How do I give people access to edit Case activity description & at the same time restrict them from changing the date/time particular work was done.

In many ways we use document tracker and other reports to monitor work productivity of employees. Certain employees need access to change the name of a document on normal case activities/ read only or private case activity.....However they should not have the ability to change the date and time of an activity.

Is there any way to restrict the editing of date/time in A1-law.

Please advise, thank you.

Oh yes one more thing they also need to have the ability to delete their work....

Basically I want security options that allow the following
-Add/Edit Event
-Delete the event
-Can't change date/time

THANKS AGAIN

Is there a way where no one other than administrator can make changes to the case activity for the Calendar and e-mails?

Do you mean the Calendar and Email are specific categories in Case Activity? If so, go to System Defaults, Case Activity and set those catetories to Read Only.

For everyone in the office, I have set the case activites security to the following:

-Nothing checked mark
-Add/edit/del rights: Add & edit only their events
-Access level: 5

So far 2 people have had issues with editing or deleting their notes. Did I do the settings correctly? One of them was trying to delete the calendar post. Can they still delete or edit the calendar post as long as they calendared something?

In Configure Group Defaults there is a separate setting for case activity and calendar security.

well the person who is deleting a calendar post has full rights for the calendar and they can add or edit their events. but was not able to delete the calendar post.

If they have full rights then they should definitely be able to delete the post. If they can't then I would have to sign on and see it.
