calendar conflicts

In the system defaults I checked the box for calendar conflicts. But when I entered an event in the calendar for same time, etc no warning came up of the conflict. Is there another way to get some kind of notification of a calendar conflict?

Did you specify the total time the event will take in minutes?

No I did not. In the client's calendar I entered an appt at the same time another appt was already scheduled in the main calendar. Do I need to enter the time frame also?

I think so - that way A1-Law knows how long each appointment is so if any appointment is 3 hours (for example) then it knows to keep that amount of time free. Try it for one appointment (either add or edit) and see if it then brings up a conflict message.
