MSWord Merge Problems

#1

Post by Joshua Morgan » Wed May 01, 2002 3:08 pm

I have recently been trying to merge memory commands into MSWord XP.

Example:

In my Word doc, the bookmark displays something like

Joshua Morgan\plain\f0\fs24 \plain\f0\fs24

It seems to be some from of font command as the 24 of fs24 is 2 times font size. So if I had font size at 10. it would be fs20 instead. I've tried to eliminate it, but it keeps appearing no matter the font type or size!

Any Help?

Try putting this command at the top of the form letter:

I think it is merging rich text (you could try retyping the command or just use the TextOnly command).

In the meantime, if you have Version 4.1 (available on the web), you should strongly consider dumping the BookMark commands and consider using another method of integration because it's a lot easier. See this link for details:

Thanks for the advice, it worked great, except:

Now only a few of my BookMarks work! I keep getting error messages saying This bookmark is in Word but not in A1-Law. They are in both documents, and this problem only appears with >!
(i.e. If I remove textonly, the problem goes away!)

I am currently trying to update to the new version, but any help in the meantime would be nice. Any other suggestions?

Retype the commands in A1-Law and the problem will go away. For example:

Retype:

Be sure to retype it a few lines below the one currently in the letter (press Enter a few times to create some fresh space and then retype in in between the lines where you pressed Enter). If you have Remote Access I can sign on and show you or you may feel free to Email me the letter.
