Printing Issue - Tasks

#1

Dear Michael,

I'm encountering a new printing problem using A1 with the Canon 2800.
I have a shared driver set up on the server that directs documents via TCP/IP to the networked Canon 2800.
The driver works for printing documents from outside A1.
The driver works in A1 for everything (letters, etc.) Except Printing Tasks. If you go to your tasks and click on the large (auto-print) or small (select what to print) icons and attempt to print out your tasks -- when the printer receives the document it gives you "Error - no LTR paper available" -- which is strange since there is plenty of LTR paper in the copier.
Strangely, if you use a copy of the same driver that points to a drawer with a different type of paper (say bond LTR) it works fine.

(Note: We were having a similar problem when we were using the lpr ports to print envelopes fo the 2800 - however, in this situation we are using all TCP/IP ports)

In addition, we can print Tasks to the 5000 (which has no special envelope attachment) on copy paper.

Maybe the envelope feeder option is confusing A1? Or? Thoughts?
Thanks!

Confused and thinking,

I would start by doing a Right Click on the printer icon to bring up the printer dialog. From there, you may check the Properties to make sure you are printing to the right bin and the right printer settings, etc. Of all things, printing tasks should not have any problems.

Mike.
