Setting up HOLIDAYS

#1

Post by Leslie » Fri Mar 08, 2002 6:26 pm

Hi Mike,
I need to set-up holidays for the calander but I can't figure it out. I went to Configure System Defaults & chose Holidays. I tried entering them in this sequence:

,3/31/02 Easter,5/27/02 Memorial Day Closed,7/4/02 Independence Day Closed, ....etc.

I guess I've got the wrong format because they don't show up in the calander.

Hi Leslie,

you need to separate them with carrage returns. Also, don't forget to check the Alert on Holidays checkbox. Just list all the dates and holidays. Here's an example:

12/25/2001,Christmas
12/25/2002,Christmas
1/1/2001,New Years Day
1/1/2002,New Years Day

It's not working that way either, is it because I haven't updated to v.4.1? I'm still using 4.0

Did you check the box to Alert on Holidays? Did you click the Save button?

You don't need to upgrade - this was a feature in the first release.

Do you have pc Anywhere? I'll be more than happy to sign on and take a look. After you enter a date in the calendar hit the tab key or click out of the date and you should get an alert if it falls on a holiday.

The other option would be for you to email me the system.dbf and system.fpt files. They are small and are in the a1law\data folder.

You're right, it does prompt me when I try to enter an appt on a scheduled holiday & it appears not to let me override that prompt to enter an appointment anyway. Is there a way to enter an appointment on a day set-up through SYSTEM, HOLDIDAY? And is there a way for the HOLIDAYS I set-up to print in the calander?

It allows you to enter the appointment. It may remind you a few times depending on what you are clicking out of but it will allow you to save the appointment.

At the present time - it does not print the holiday on the calendar but I'll note it for a future addition.
